Honestly, the only thing I'm willing to accept regarding the apocalypse plot is if the story stops stalling and they move forward with the conclusion. I know they can still do things with him, but ultimately, it would still revolve around the apocalypse. I think Genesis did a good job making Strife play similarly. I want something more similar to Darksiders 1&2. Those games are generally awesome, but they have a shitty habit of gatekeeping things behind obnoxious difficulties and obnoxious requirements (such as to not use items). War was blamed for the apocalypse, Death tried to undo the apocalypse and Fury tried to prevent it from getting worse. Darksiders has 3 of the 4 games revolve around the apocalypse.
